Sabah Barisan holds ‘Blue Wave’ gathering ahead of state election

KOTA KINABALU: The Blue Wave (Gelombang Biru) gathering by Sabah Barisan Nasional is expected to be the largest political meet ahead of the 17th state election.

Scheduled for Sept 21 here, this programme is set to send a strong message of confidence in the return of Barisan in the governance of the state, said Sabah Umno Information Chief Datuk Suhaimi Nasir.

"Located at the Magellan Sutera, this event will gather leaders, machinery and supporters who believe that Sabah needs a stable, consistent and capable leadership," he said in a statement.

The Libaran MP said the Gelombang Biru is not only a symbol but a sign of the people’s aspirations.

They wish to see Sabah get back on track in terms of development.

Suhaimi said Sabah Barisan has an undeniable track record and with fully prepared machinery, the party is ready to head into the state elections, which can be called at any time.

"Your presence at this Gelombang Biru gathering on Sept 21 is a clear message that the people are ready to end an episode of weak governance.

"It will also open up a new chapter for the betterment of the state and people," he said.
