JOHOR BARU: A heavy downpour lasting over two hours resulted in flash floods in various parts of the city, including the Sultanah Aminah Hospital.

The water receded shortly after the downpour ended around 7pm, causing some minor damage to the hospital's facilities.

Medical personnel were quick to move patients and equipment to safety during the incident.

State health and environment committee chairman Ling Tian Soon had personally visited the affected areas, along with officials from the state drainage and irrigation department, to identify the drainage issues that contributed to the flooding

Efforts were underway to carry out cleanup and maintenance work in the affected areas. No other emergency or rescue operations were reported to the fire and rescue department.
