PM inspects final preparations for Budget 2027, plans to strengthen economy, aid rakyat

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim hopes Budget 2027 will further strengthen the national economy while easing the burden on the people.

In a statement on X on Thursday (Oct 8), he expressed hope that the budget would create more opportunities and ensure the benefits of development were distributed more fairly.

Earlier, Anwar, who is also Finance Minister, inspected the final preparations for the Fifth Madani Budget at the Finance Ministry in Putrajaya ahead of its tabling in the Dewan Rakyat on Friday (Oct 9).

He expressed his appreciation to the entire Finance Ministry team for their hard work in preparing the budget.

On Wednesday (Oct 7), Anwar said the Fifth MADANI Budget was underpinned by a clear commitment to further strengthen the national economy and ensure that growth translated into a better quality of life for the people.

Anwar is scheduled to table Budget 2027 at 3.30pm. — Bernama
