JOHOR BARU: Police confirm that there was a shooting involving police near Johor Zoo on Jalan Gertak Merah here.

Johor police chief Datuk Ab Rahaman Arsad said an individual was injured in the incident.

"I can confirm that there was a shooting involving police personnel and a member of the public was injured. I will hold a press conference at 11am tomorrow," he said on Thursday (Oct 8).

A check at the scene found that the road leading to Johor Zoo was closed, while the surrounding area was under tight police control.
