KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Embassy in Doha, Qatar, has confirmed that no Malaysians were affected in the explosion at Legtaifiya, which occurred following an Israeli attack on the Hamas leaders’ office.

In a statement on Tuesday (Sept 9), the embassy nevertheless advised Malaysians in Qatar to remain vigilant and avoid the affected area.

"They are also advised to keep abreast of current developments through official information released by the Qatari authorities,” the embassy said in a statement posted on its official Facebook page.

The statement further noted that the Qatari government has assured that the situation is now fully under control and that the country’s airspace will not be closed.

For Malaysians requiring consular assistance, they may contact the Embassy via email at: mwdoha@kln.gov.my, by phone at +974 4483 6463 (office hours), or +974 3374 6733 (after office hours).

Media reports stated that on Tuesday, the Zionist regime launched an attack on the residence of a Hamas leader while the group’s negotiators were discussing the latest ceasefire and prisoner exchange proposal from United States (US) President Donald Trump. - Bernama
