Brunei briefs Philippine Embassy staff on bid to combat human trafficking

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Twenty-two staff of the Embassy of the Philippines in Brunei Darussalam recently attended a briefing on trafficking in persons by the Human Trafficking Investigation Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department, Royal Brunei Police Force, to raise awareness and strengthen efforts to combat human trafficking in the sultanate.

The briefing aimed to educate participants and enhance their awareness of how to identify individuals who may be potential victims of human trafficking in the country.

Law enforcement agencies and frontline personnel are encouraged to remain vigilant and identify individuals who may be vulnerable to exploitation and trafficking.

The cooperation of the embassy as a key stakeholder is essential in addressing human trafficking, while supporting the RBPF’s efforts to combat and prevent such crimes. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
