Nadma to decide on type of aid to send to quake-hit Afghanistan

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) will decide on the type of aid to be sent to Afghanistan following earthquakes there that have killed thousands, says Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

“There is a Nadma meeting this morning and the matter is due to be discussed. For the Malaysian Armed Forces, we are ready to deploy our medical teams if told to do so.

“Let’s wait for the decision from Nadma. We also will see if we will send in our medical teams or deploy a field hospital” the Defence Minister said when met during a working visit to Kem Perdana in Sungai Besi on Monday (Sept 8).

More than 2,200 people have been killed after earthquakes struck southeastern Afghanistan recently, according to Reuters.
