JOHOR BARU: She spent over RM33,000 on luxury goods, believing them to be genuine French, Italian and American brands that were offered to her at substantial discounts.

“I thought I was getting a good deal when I bought what was advertised as a luxury handbag for RM1,999. I was even offered a membership discount,” said the businesswoman known only as Wan, 54.
