A 22-YEAR-OLD man and his stepsister have been nabbed for killing their parents, dismembering their bodies and discarding the remains in two lakes in Tamil Nadu, India, Malaysia Nanban reported.
The man, identified only as Akash, lived with his father, Palanisamy, 45, who had remarried a woman named Jeyalethumi after his first marriage ended.
Jeyalethumi’s teenage daughter from her previous marriage also lived with them. At some point, Palanisamy allegedly attempted to sexually harass the girl.
Enraged, Akash attacked his father with a meat cleaver. Jeyalethumi, who tried to intervene, was gravely injured in the process.
Akash dismembered both bodies with the help of his stepsister, stuffed the remains into three sacks and dumped them into two lakes.
Neighbours grew suspicious after the two adults had not been seen since Aug 16.
When questioned, the step-siblings gave vague answers, so the neighbours eventually reported the matter to the police.
Upon police questioning, they confessed to the crime. Police dredged the lakes and recovered the decomposing remains.
