PETALING JAYA: Over 100 foreigners have been prevented from entering the country after checks conducted at both terminals in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) in a statement on Wednesday (Aug 20) said that 126 foreigners were sent back to their home countries after checks showed discrepancies, including their lack of return flight tickets.
“In Terminal One, enforcement teams detained 35 Pakistani men for failing to obey entry requirements. They had produced fake lodging bookings, had no return tickets and did not bring enough cash on hand.
“They are believed to have attempted to enter the country to find employment,” it said.
Meanwhile, in Terminal Two, the agency issued Not To Land (NTL) orders on 91 foreigners, including 64 Indian nationals that has arrived in a group.
“They claimed to have only been in Malaysia to transit to another country, but were actually waiting for further instructions and new tickets from their agent to work and stay here illegally.
Another 27 were also detained for using fake ePass documents.
“In total 136 people from both terminals were issued NTL orders and sent back to their home countries within 24 hours,” it said.
