Road accident in Sabak Bernam causes chemical spill


PETALING JAYA: A road accident along Sabak Bernam resulted in a chemical spill.

When contacted, Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (Operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said the department was notified of the accident yesterday at around 7.13pm.

"The accident occurred after a lorry carrying nitric acid crashed into another lorry. No injuries were reported. Around 40 drums of nitric acid and 24 drums of calcium hypochlorite spilled.

"The cleanup operation concluded at 2.42am today," he said.
