A GROUP of tourists from China who were visiting Italy had the shock of their lives after all their luggage went missing from their tour bus, reported China Press.
The tour group, comprising 30 participants, embarked on a tour to visit France and Italy from June 26 to July 7.
On July 3, they arrived at the town of Pisa in Italy to visit its iconic Leaning Tower.
As the visit would not take more than 20 minutes, the group left their bags and suitcases on their tour bus.
When they returned less than half an hour later, all their belongings on board had disappeared.
One of the tour participants named Jin said they were heartbroken as all the things they had bought were gone.
“There was an aunty on board who bought a Rolex from Italy for her son. He hasn’t even gotten the chance to wear it and now it’s gone. She nearly had a heart attack from it,” he said.
According to Jin, it was fortunate that their tour guide had kept all of their passports, which meant they were able to return to China without any problems.
Jin said they made a police report on the matter. However, despite having provided CCTV footage and the GPS location of the stolen luggage, Jin claimed the police did take any action.
When contacted, a Chinese embassy to Italy staff said they will recommend a lawyer to work with local authorities to try and recover their belongings.
