Boy, 11, injured, allegedly beaten by father

MELAKA: An 11-year-old boy sustained a head injury and bruises on his left arm after he was allegedly beaten by his father at a house in Taman Cheng Baru here on Wednesday (June 25).

Melaka Tengah police chief ACP Christopher Patit said the boy's 38-year-old mother lodged a police report at the Tanjung Minyak police station at 9.11pm on Sunday.

"The complainant, who is also a tuition teacher, reported that on the day of the incident, at around 10.30pm, she returned home and found her son's head bandaged.

"Her husband claimed that he hit the boy because he had allegedly lied," he said in a statement here on Sunday.

Christopher said the victim's mother lodged the report to protect her son and to refer the matter to the relevant authorities. - Bernama
