Azmi Rohani appointed new Datuk Pengelola Bijaya Diraja at Istana Negara


JOHOR BARU: Johor State Secretary Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani has been appointed as the Datuk Pengelola Bijaya Diraja at Istana Negara, effective from July 1, according to Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.

Shamsul stated that His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, had agreed to the appointment, which would take effect next month.

He expressed confidence in Azmi’s extensive experience and credibility, believing that he would be able to strengthen the administration at Istana Negara and fulfil his duties to assist the Yang di-Pertuan Agong as the head of the country.

Shamsul said that Azmi, 59, had vast experience in the civil service for the past 33 years.

“He started as an assistant officer at the Muar district office in 1992 and his last position was as state secretary, which he has held since Jan 2017,” he said, adding that Azmi has a bachelors degree in economy and management from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Masters in human resources development from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and doctorate in adminustration and land development from UTM.
