Zara Qairina's mother testifies as 82nd witness at inquest


KOTA KINABALU: Noraidah Lamat, 46, appeared as the 82nd witness on Wednesday (Oct 7) in the inquest into her daughter Zara Qairina Mahathir's death at the Coroner's Court here.

Noraidah arrived at the court at about 9am to testify before Coroner Amir Shah Amir Hassan.

She is one of the final two witnesses called to testify in the inquest, ahead of investigating officer Inspector Wong Yew Zhung.

On Tuesday, Zara Qairina's half-sister, Malianah Mahathir, 25, appeared as the 81st witness and testified about her relationship with the deceased and the family.

Zara Qairina died at Queen Elizabeth Hospital on July 17, 2025, a day after the Form One student was found unconscious near a drain at her school hostel at 4am. - Bernama
