PDRM holds steadfast to King's decree, says IGP

PETALING JAYA: The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is committed to strengthening its integrity and governance to remain a respected authoritative body, says Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.

The Inspector-General of Police said the decree by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, on Monday (June 2) was appropriate and stood with the principles of the force.

"We will continuously strengthen efforts to improve integrity and good governance, and fight all wrongdoings to preserve the image of the police force and ensure it remains respected," he said.

He added that integrity and responsibility were core elements that must be maintained by all members of the police.

"PDRM remains steadfast to the decree by His Majesty and committed to living pure values in carrying out its duties," he added.

In His Majesty's royal address this morning in conjunction with his official birthday, Sultan Ibrahim emphasised that civil servants must be honest and trustworthy in their duties, without betraying the trust of the country and the people.

Civil servants, he added, must be free from political influence, impartial, and always uphold the nation and people's best interests.

Sultan Ibrahim also called on all enforcement agencies to carry out their duties with full integrity so that the people do not lose trust and continue to respect the uniform they wear.
