Man arrested over Chan Sow Lin gang robbery after two years on the run


PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested a local man believed to be involved in a gang robbery at a condominium unit in Jalan Dua, Chan Sow Lin, more than two years after the incident.

Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Rosdi Daud said the suspect, who is in his late 20s, was arrested by officers from the Cheras criminal investigation department following intelligence gathering.

"The suspect was detained at about noon on July 10 by the roadside in Sungai Jelok, Kajang.

"During the operation, police also seized a pair of jeans and a pair of shoes believed to have been worn by the suspect during the robbery," he said in a statement on Tuesday (July 14).

He said the robbery took place at a condominium unit in Jalan Dua, Chan Sow Lin, in March 2024.

The suspect has been remanded for seven days until July 17 to facilitate investigations.

The case is being investigated under Section 395 of the Penal Code for gang robbery, and investigations are ongoing, he added.
