THE 22-year inspiring love story of actor Edika Yusof and his wife Nor Hidayah Yusri has come to an end as the pair have officially divorced, reported Sinar Harian.
Edika pronounced the divorce with a single talak against Nor Hidayah at the Federal Territory Syariah Court on May 5.
Edika appeared sombre, while Nor Hidayah, who was wheelchair-bound, was seen shedding tears as she exited the courtroom.
The couple’s story previously touched the hearts of many when it was revealed that Edika had taken care of Hidayah after she became partially paralysed from giving birth to their second child 16 years ago.
The couple have three children – Nazirul Afiq, Fardeen Nasrulhaq and Fereena Nurulhaq.
> What was initially thought to be a joyous occasion turned into despair for a woman in Baling, Kedah, after she learned that her bloated belly is not due to pregnancy but stage four liver cancer, reported Harian Metro.
Norsiah Hashim, 35, first noticed her abdomen becoming increasingly enlarged over the course of a year and thought it was due to pregnancy with her husband Mohd Zaki Md Isa.
But her world turned upside down when a medical examination diagnosed her with liver cancer instead, which led to her stomach being filled with fluid.
“Doctors confirmed that I had liver cancer after noticing swelling in both my legs, and both my kidneys were also problematic. The diagnosis came as a shock.”
No reprieve is in sight for Norsiah either as her 36-year-old husband is also suffering from chronic kidney disease which caused him to faint often and forced him to quit his work as a driver.
“Because of this, we have lost our source of income and now rely solely on monthly financial aid from the Kedah Zakat Board for food and transportation costs to and from the hospital,” she said.
