Seremban fatal accident: Motorist comes forward with dashcam footage


SEREMBAN: A motorist whose dashboard camera recorded a van driver allegedly running a red light and crashing into a motorcyclist, causing his death, has come forward to help the police investigation.

Seremban OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Hatta Che Din said the 20-year-old man went to the police station on Sunday (May 4) to give his statement.

"We thank him for coming forward to assist in the investigation.

"We urge other witnesses to come forward and help us in the probe," he said here on Monday (May 5).

In the incident at around midnight on Saturday (May 3) along Jalan Persiaran Senawang 1, the van driver was believed to have run the red light and crashed into the motorcyclist, also 20.

The victim died on the spot.

ACP Hatta said the 44-year-old van driver has been remanded for four days, although alcohol and urine tests on the suspect were negative.

The van belonged to a company.

Three youths were also killed at the same spot in March when a car, also believed to have run the red light, crashed into their motorcycles.
