Netizens react to death of five-year-old boy locked in van


PETALING JAYA: Social media was flooded with grief and anger over the death of a five-year-old boy in a locked school van.

"Carelessness leads to an innocent child's death. I just can't imagine the pain the parents are undergoing," said Kevin Arshavin on Facebook.

"My heart goes out to the family. May you rest in peace little guy," said Shirley Tay.

"Negligence on the van driver. Cannot comprehend what happened here," said Tengku Aisharila.

"Heartfelt condolences. Heartbreaking and praying for the family," said Sherlin Anita Long.

Yu Zie, an only child, died after being left in a locked school van in Taman Bukit Indah, Johor on Thursday (May 1).

Teo Jia, 37, the father of Yu Zie, said he believed his son had tried to escape from the vehicle, but to no avail.

District OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan confirmed that police have arrested the van driver to assist in the investigation.
