Tun Fatimah Form Six College selected for AI initiative by Asean Foundation

MELAKA: The Tun Fatimah Form Six College in Durian Daun here has made history as the first school in Malaysia to be selected by the Asean Foundation for its artificial intelligence (AI) initiative.

Its Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) chairman Mak Chee Kin expressed pride and gratitude at the prestigious recognition.

"We are honoured to be the first and only school in the country chosen for this international project.

"It reflects the trust and confidence the foundation has placed in us,” he said on Wednesday (April 23).

Mak added that the college was undertaking a significant responsibility in empowering 220,000 Malaysians with AI literacy.

"This initiative highlights our college’s strength in digital learning. It’s set to be a demanding but exciting year for our lead trainer, teacher Pang Yee Jiea and her team.

"The PTA is fully committed to supporting them in every way possible to ensure the success of this programme," he said.

Mak also said that AI was already delivering measurable benefits across various sectors in Malaysia.

"It's vital to focus on the crucial role of higher education and AI in preparing our society for future success.

"We are committed to equipping students with essential AI skills and fostering a culture that aligns with Malaysia’s national goals,” he said.
