Any public servant who breaches integrity rules will face action, says Saifuddin

PUTRAJAYA: Disciplinary action will be taken against public servants who commit integrity-related offences, says Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

“They are bound by the rules put in place.

“I can only speak in general that the principle applies to all. It doesn’t matter what your title is.

“There are rules, and the country has laws. If there are complaints (against any public servants), then due process will be conducted,” he said on Tuesday (April 22).

Saifuddin had been asked to comment on a recent raid at an entertainment outlet at which a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officer and several other enforcement agency personnel were screened.

On Monday (April 21), the MACC said it was conducting an internal investigation after one of its officers was checked by police during the recent Ops Noda Khas in Kuala Lumpur.

"Further investigations have been handed over to the Royal Malaysia Police, and the MACC will extend full cooperation to the authorities in their probe,” it said in a statement.
