Public sector work-from-home framework expected after Hari Raya

PUTRAJAYA: Work-from-home arrangements for the public sector are expected to be presented after Hari Raya, said Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

The government spokesperson said the proposal is still being reviewed.

“The Prime Minister has requested that several matters be organised more systematically and presented for decisions at the upcoming Economic Action Council (MTEN) meeting, which will take place after Hari Raya Aidilfitri,” he said during the weekly press conference on Tuesday (March 17).

He added that this consideration is focused on the public sector, as public servants make up the majority of the civil service, while the private sector has already begun implementing its own work-from-home arrangements.

He also said that frontliners, such as those in the education and health sectors, are not eligible for WFH.
