MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms in multiple states this evening


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has warned of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in several states until 5pm on Monday (April 21).

In a statement at 3pm on Friday, MetMalaysia said the states affected are Perak (Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim); Terengganu (Dungun and Kemaman); Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Raub, Bentong, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan and Rompin); Selangor; Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya; Negri Sembilan; Melaka and Johor.

MetMalaysia said bad weather is forecast in Sarawak in Samarahan (Simunjan); Sri Aman; Betong; Sarikei; Sibu; Mukah; Kapit (Song and Kapit); Miri and Limbang.

In Sabah, areas involved are the Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort and Nabawan); West Coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud); Tawau (Tawau and Lahad Datu); Sandakan and the Federal Territory of Labuan until 5pm on Monday.
