Storm warning: Thunderstorms, heavy rain expected over seven states, two FTs until 2am Thursday


KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a weather warning, with thunderstorms and heavy rain forecast in seven states and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya until 2am Thursday (April 17).

In a statement Wednesday (April 16), MetMalaysia said the areas affected include Pahang (Bentong, Temerloh, Maran, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan and Rompin), Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor (Tangkak, Segamat, Muar and Batu Pahat).

In Sarawak, the areas affected are Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah (Tg Manis and Daro), Kapit (Song and Kapit), Bintulu (Tatau), Miri and Limbang while in Sabah, the areas affected are Interior (Sipitang, Tenom and Nabawan), and Sandakan (Tongod).
