MetMalaysia: Severe weather, thunderstorms expected in most parts of the country until 7pm today


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in parts of Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak until 7pm on Saturday (April 12).

The Meteorology Malaysia Department (MetMalaysia) issued a warning at 3.55pm of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Kedah (Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Perak (Larut, Matang Dan Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim), Terengganu (Hulu Terengganu, Dungun and Kemaman), Pahang (Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Lipis, Jerantut, Maran, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin), Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau and Tampin), Melaka and Johor (Tangkak, Muar, Kluang, Mersing and Kota Tinggi).

Severe weather is also expected in Sarawak: Sri Aman, Betong (Betong), Sarikei, Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Bintulu (Tatau) and Limbang as well as in Sabah: Interior (Sipitang and Nabawan), West Coast (Papar) and Tawau.
