IOI Properties Group (IOIPG), through its charity arm, the IOIPG Foundation, welcomed 40 children aged eight to 17 from Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Yatim / Miskin Rukaiyah Kajang and their 14 caretakers to Palm Garden Golf Club at IOI Resort City, Putrajaya.
Among the caretakers was Siti Eshah Din, the manager of the centre, who joined the visit on the morning of Saturday, April 12.
This special Hari Raya Wish Tree event was a celebration of joy and support for those in need. To initiate this day of giving, IOIPG Group Corporate Communication head Kim Teoh, delivered opening remarks that resonated deeply with all present.
“This programme is not just charity – it's a heartfelt connection, building bridges of unity and understanding that resonate deeply within our Malaysian community,” she emphasised, “Kita jaga kita.”
She also reaffirmed IOIPG Foundation’s commitment to providing sustained support to welfare homes, pledging two years of similar assistance before extending their reach to neighbouring communities.
In keeping with this spirit of generosity, the contributions, estimated at a total of RM18,000 went beyond mere material aid.
They included the joyous fulfilment of individual wishes, turning childhood dreams into reality, along with duit raya, exciting game prizes, and essential necessities.
The true magic, however, lay in the personal connection – the children’s heartfelt wishes, lovingly granted by Team IOI, fellow colleagues of IOI Plantation Services Sdn Bhd, and compassionate members of the public.
Palm Garden Golf Club also sponsored a sumptuous buffet. Adding to the day’s vibrant atmosphere, the children, in a touching display of gratitude, surprised everyone with a heartfelt performance, showcasing their hidden talents and bringing tears of joy to many eyes.
Following the performance, the air crackled with excitement during the 'Teka Kotak Misteri' game, where children’s laughter and cheers filled the room.
The highlight of the celebration was, without a doubt, the presentation of gifts, which included duit raya, requested gifts through their submitted wishes, and personalised jerseys bearing their names. Each gift was met with radiant smiles and eyes sparkling with joy.
The day concluded with an inspiring motivational talk by Ustaz Muhammad Hafizuddin Arsath Ali and Ustaz Muhammad Adam Lotfi from IOI City Mall, leaving the children with a renewed sense of purpose and guidance.
This successful community engagement initiative demonstrates the IOIPG Foundation's continued commitment and dedication to its corporate social responsibility efforts.
By demonstrating this commitment, the Foundation is dedicated to assisting communities in need and supporting education, youth development, and the living necessities of the youth through its Wish Tree Programme.
As a continuation of this purpose, a Wish Tree will be displayed during festive seasons in the lobby of IOI City Tower 2 at IOI Resort City, Putrajaya, to fulfil wishes made by children from welfare homes and to receive donations from Team IOI.
