Grandpa hurt in parking bay dispute that turned physical


ALOR GAJAH: A parking dispute between two motorists escalated into a physical altercation, leaving an 82-year-old grandfather seriously injured, according to Alor Gajah police.

Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Ashari Abu Samah said a 65-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident on Monday (April 14).

"It took place a few days ago at a supermarket in Masjid Tanah, where the two senior citizens became embroiled in a heated argument over a parking spot.

"During the scuffle, the older man was pushed and fell on the ground, sustaining serious injuries to his back," he said on Tuesday (April 15).

Supt Ashari added that the suspect has been remanded for two days to assist in investigations under Section 325 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt.
