KLANG: Palm Sunday services were held at churches nationwide as Christians began the Holy Week, and the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes here was no exception.

On Sunday (April 13) at 8am, churchgoers gathered outside Wisma Lourdes for the blessing of palms before joining a short procession into the church.

Reverend Fr. Gregory Chan, the parish priest, blessed the palms.

Palm Sunday is a significant day in the Christian calendar. It marks the start of the Holy Week leading to Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

It commemorates Jesus Christ’s entry into Jerusalem on a donkey, greeted as the Messiah by the crowd.

Maundy Thursday falls on April 17 this year, followed by Good Friday on April 18. The Easter Vigil will be on Sunday (April 20).
