Ayer Kuning polls: Tapah PAS chief to represent Perikatan

TAPAH: Tapah PAS chief Abd Muhaimin Malik will represent Perikatan Nasional to contest the Ayer Kuning by-election.

Abd Muhaimin, 44, who is also Tapah Perikatan chairman, would now face Barisan Nasional's Dr Mohamad Yusri Bakir and Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) deputy secretary-general KS Bawani in a three-way tussle for the state seat.

PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man announced his candidacy at Tapah Road on Tuesday (April 8).

The candidacy of Mohamad Yusri, who is Tapah Umno secretary, was announced on Monday (April 7), while Bawani’s was announced earlier on Tuesday.

In his speech, Abdul Muhaimin, a tahfiz principal, thanked the Perikatan leadership for trusting him with the responsibility.

He hoped that the people in Ayer Kuning would support him.
