Zero tolerance: Bullying incident in MRSM will be investigated, says Dr Asyraf

PETALING JAYA: An alleged bullying incident at a Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) will be investigated thoroughly, says Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.

The Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) chairman said that the incident had been brought to his attention on Monday (April 7) morning and that he had ordered the investigation to identify where it had occurred.

"The result showed that the incident occurred at an MRSM in the northern part of the country. A thorough investigation will be conducted, and during that process, the students involved must be suspended.

"Firstly, this is to ensure that investigations are not disturbed, and secondly, this is to bring a message that there is no compromise in this matter. If the incident was found to have really occurred,d we at the Mara level will take strict action.

"I have stressed before on the principle of 'you touch, you go'," he said.

He added that bullying, be it physical or mental, must never be tolerated.

He also said that the MRSM institutes were where leaders were made and those with such tendencies do not have the characteristics of one.
