Govt yet to decide whether to extend Azam Baki's contract, says Anwar


PETALING JAYA: The government has not yet decided on whether to extend the contract of Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki, says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

"When a decision is made, I will announce it. We'll see when (the contract) is nearing its end.

"He (Azam) hasn't finished yet," the Prime Minister told Bernama when asked abuot international media reports claiming that Azam's contract would be extended for another six months.

Azam has held the position of MACC chief commissioner since March 2020, with his contract first extended for one year on May 10, 2023, and for another year the following year. - Bernama
