Flash floods hit three villages in Jelebu

SEREMBAN: Heavy rain since midnight caused flash floods in three villages in Jelebu on Thursday (April 3).

District Civil Defence Force officer Lt (PA) Mohd Najib Abdul Karim said the flash floods affected 65 people from 13 families from Kampung Juntai, Kampung Lakai, and Kampung Jerang, but no evacuations were carried out.

"Several areas were flooded to thigh level. Some areas have already receded, while others have not yet fully subsided. We have relocated all victims to safer locations.

"The weather is currently not rainy but quite gloomy. These three villages are situated in low-lying areas near rivers, which caused the rapid rise in water levels," he told Bernama Thursday. - Bernama
