Floods: Over 600 evacuees in Johor return home


JOHOR BARU: More than 600 flood victims have been allowed to return home as the situation in Johor continues to improve.

The state disaster management committee said that as of 10am on Tuesday (March 25), 1,221 people from 355 families remain at 16 temporary relief centres.

“This is a significant drop from 1,853 people from 504 families recorded at 8am. Four relief centres have also been closed today,” it said in a statement.

The number of flood-affected districts remains at five, with Batu Pahat having the most evacuees (624).

The other affected districts are Pontian (406), Kluang (68), Kota Tinggi (65) and Johor Baru (58).
