Border Control Agency stops 45 foreign nationals from entering the country

PETALING JAYA: A total of 45 foreign nationals were barred from entering the country due to failing to meet entry conditions during an inspection operation at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) on Tuesday (March 18).

The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency operation focused on the incoming gate, where 115 foreign nationals were inspected, and 36 Bangladeshis and nine Pakistanis were found to have failed to fulfil entry conditions into the country.

"They were later taken to the monitoring unit for investigation, where the authorities decided against their landing," said the agency in a statement on Wednesday (March 19).

"The operation was carried out to ensure the directive of the director general of the Immigration Department (administrative direction) and other current directives were in force without any untoward incidents.

The agency said it was committed to continuously upgrading the security control and compliance with the immigration regulations at KLIA.
