Ten-year limit to PM’s time in office suggested, says Loke

PETALING JAYA: DAP has recommended that the government amend the Federal Constitution to limit a Prime Minister’s time in office to ten years, says party secretary-general Anthony Loke.

He said this was Pakatan Harapan's manifesto in the last general election and should be implemented while the coalition is still in power.

Another significant constitutional amendment Loke recommended is the separation of the offices of the Attorney General and Public Prosecutor

“It is an ongoing effort by the government but has yet to be brought up for discussion. We hope this amendment will be a part of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s legacy in bringing reform to our administration,” he said in his speech at DAP’s national congress on Sunday (March16).
