Teenage burglars busted: RM20,000 worth of stolen motorcycle parts recovered

KOTA KINABALU: Eight teenagers believed to have gone on a stealing spree have been arrested in the Kota Marudu district.

The boys, aged 13 to 17, were suspected to have gone around breaking into shops and stealing motorcycle spare parts, said Kota Marudu OCPD Supt Simiun Lomudin.

He said these suspects were rounded up in three locations at around 3am, Saturday (Mar 15).

“We also managed to retrieve some RM20,000 worth of stolen parts from these arrests,” he said on Saturday.

Supt Simiun said with this arrest, police believe they have solved a series of break-ins and thefts in the district.

“All suspects are under remand pending full investigations,” he said, adding police welcome the continued cooperation from the public to help fight crime in the district.
