Bukit Kepayang assemblyman withdraws from DAP CEC polls

SEREMBAN: Bukit Kepayang assemblyman Nicole Tan Lee Koon has decided not to participate in the DAP central executive committee (CEC) elections tomorrow (March 16).

In a brief statement to the media, the Negri Sembilan Pakatan Harapan Wanita chief expressed gratitude to those who nominated her.

"I humbly announce my decision to withdraw as a candidate in Sunday's election.

I would also like to take the opportunity to thank those who had nominated me," said Tan, who is also the state tourism, arts and culture committee chairman.

Tan, who has never been on the CEC, welcomed a call by party secretary-general Anthony Loke for members to prioritise the party's interests.

She stated that she supports Loke's leadership and the measures taken to determine the party's future direction.

Tan is now serving her second term as the Bukit Kepayang assemblyman.
