Video of ceiling collapse at popular Johor mall goes viral, no casualties reported


JOHOR BARU: Shoppers at a popular mall here were taken by surprise when a section of the ceiling collapsed at approximately 7pm on Saturday (March 8).

No casualties were reported in the incident, which involved debris falling onto the floor of the shopping complex.

Images and videos of the incident have since gone viral on social media, raising concerns about building safety.

Larkin Fire Station chief Mohd Suhaimi Abdul Jamal, when contacted on Sunday (March 9), stated that, to date, no report has been made concerning the incident.

Meanwhile, Johor Baru South OCPD Asst Comm Raub Selamat said police are currently investigating the matter.

“Although no police report has been lodged, we are still going to investigate the matter,” he said.
