KOTA TINGGI: A fatal collision involving two vehicles along KM9.8 of Jalan Kota Tinggi-Kluang claimed the life of a woman and left three others injured.

Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Yusof Othman said police received a report on the accident at 8.45am on Wednesday (March 5).

“The incident involved two cars, driven by a 26-year-old local woman and an 18-year-old local man, respectively.

“The first vehicle was carrying two passengers, a two-year-old child and a 59-year-old woman.

“Initial investigations revealed that the car, which was travelling from Kampung Lukut Batu Ampat towards Kota Tinggi, veered into the opposite lane and collided with the left front side of the second vehicle,” he said in a statement.

As a result of the crash, the 59-year-old front-seat passenger in the first car sustained severe head injuries and succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment at Kota Tinggi Hospital.

“The two-year-old child, who was in the back seat, was rushed to Sultan Ismail Hospital for further treatment.
