Police nab two syndicate members, seize drugs worth RM52,000 in Batu Pahat


BATU PAHAT: Police have detained two local men believed to be members of a drug distribution syndicate and seized syabu and Erimin 5 pills worth RM52,280.

The two suspects aged between 36 and 39, were caught at a house in Jalan Parit Botak, Senggarang near here on Sunday (Feb 23) at 6.30pm.

“The syndicate has turned the house into a drug storage to repack the items before distributing them for local consumption,’’ Batu Pahat OCPD Asst Comm Shahrulanuar Mushaddat Anuar said in a statement on Wedneday.

He said the syndicate was believed to have started their activities in October last year.

ACP Shahrulanuar said the seized items were 1,090gm syabu worth RM34,880 and 870 Erimin 5 pills weighing 250.20gm valued at RM17,400.

“The seized drugs were enough to satisfy about 3,000 drug users,’’ he said, adding that both suspects tested positive for Methamphetamine.

ACP Shahrulanuar said one suspect has six previous drug-related offences while the other suspect has one drug-related offence on his record.
