Road crash involving lorry causes traffic jam on NSE at Yong Peng


YONG PENG: An accident involving three vehicles, including a lorry, has caused a standstill along the North-South Expressway here.

Yong Peng Fire and Rescue Department operation commander Mohd Shahril Razali said the accident, which involved two cars and a lorry, occurred at KM96 of the highway.

"We received a call about the accident at 5.03pm.

"Nine firefighters, along with a fire engine and an Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle, were deployed to the scene upon receiving the call.

"Four people were involved in the accident. Two sustained injuries while two others, including the lorry driver, were unharmed," he said.

He said that the injured victims had been to the hospital by members of the public at the scene before the firefighters arrived.

He added that the cause of the accident is still being investigated by the police.
