Suaram claims its executive director was detained by police

PETALING JAYA: Suara Rakyat Malaysia (Suaram) executive director Sevan Doraisamy has been detained by the police, according to a statement from Suaram.

A video sent to the media by Suaram shows Sevan speaking with a police officer before being asked to enter a police car.

The arrest was reportedly carried out by officers from the Putrajaya police headquarters.

Suaram later released another statement saying that the police have returned Sevam's MyKad and that he was released after he gave his statement.
