More than 150 attend Pulau Carey book launch

OVER 150 local literary enthusiasts attended the book launch on the history of the Indian community in Pulau Carey authored by Dr C. Arun, Makkal Osai reported.

MIC vice-president Asojan Muniyandy was present at the event hosted by Pusat Persahabatan Kaarainagar in Kangkar Pulai, Johor.

Dr Arun said the book, titled The Footprint of Tamils in Carey Island, was based on various historical records. He said it was a proud moment to give to the community a historical record of the Tamil people’s lives in this country.

The groom marched to a police station and filed a complaint. The police summoned the bride’s family and advised them to calm down.

The couple later got married at the station.
