SHAH ALAM: Bersatu has taken disciplinary action against six of its leaders, including the dismissal of two assemblymen and the membership suspension of four other party leaders with immediate effect, Sinar Harian reported.
Through a notice issued by Bersatu Disciplinary Board Chairman Datuk Mohd Radzi Manan as of 7pm on Friday (May 8), Suka Menanti assemblyman Dzowahir Ab Ghani and Sungai Tiang assemblyman Abdul Razak Khamis were dismissed from the party.
According to the notice issued, the two leaders were dismissed from the party under Clause 22.5 of the party's Constitution for allegedly violating Clause 9.1.4 of the Constitution as well as the Members' Code of Ethics and Conduct.
In addition, several other leaders were suspended from membership for two Bersatu election terms.
They include Chenderoh assemblyman Syed Lukman Hakim Syed Mohd Zain; Tanah Merah MP Datuk Seri Ikmal Hisham Abdul Aziz; Rompin MP Datuk Khalib Abdullah and Lumut MP Nordin Ahmad Ismail.
According to the notice, the suspension also resulted in the three of them being stripped of all positions held in the party and were not allowed to issue any statements in the name of Bersatu during the suspension period.
All of the disciplinary actions were decided after the Bersatu Disciplinary Board convened and found that they had violated Clause 9.1.4 of the Constitution and the Code of Ethics and Conduct for Party Members.
However, all individuals involved were given the opportunity to appeal to the Appeals Board within 14 days from the date the notice was issued.
