Johor's BSI to get an extra 26 e-gates to help ease movement between S'pore, M'sia

JOHOR BARU: The government is expanding the use of e-gates at the Bangunan Sultan Iskandar Customs, Immigration and Quarantine (BSI) with an additional 26 units, says Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh.

The Johor works, transportation, infrastructure and communication committee chairman said that the new gates were presently being installed and were undergoing testing.

“We hope to start using it beginning Feb 19,” he said, adding that the additional e-gates would bring the total number to 39 units handling inbound and 29 units out-bound traffic.

Presently, there are 22 in-bound and 20 out-bound e-gates.

He hoped that the additional e-gates would continue to ease the movement of people between Malaysia and Singapore.
