Fake doctor caught after 10 years

DESPITE not even passing her 10th grade examination (SPM equivalent), she managed to work as a “doctor” for 10 years before getting caught by Indian authorities, Makkal Osai reported.

Arokkiya Rani, 56, had been running a small hospital in Madurai city, Tamil Nadu, providing affordable care for the people.

But a lawyer who received treatment from the well-liked doctor a few days ago became suspicious after his condition worsened.Based on the man’s complaint to the local public health department, officials raided the hospital and spotted the woman, who was in the midst of treating patients.

The officials found five patients admitted in the wards during the raid and transferred them to proper hospitals.

Arokkiya Rani, whose name means “queen of health”, was also arrested.

They found that the woman had no medical training. She started the hospital about a decade ago and employed four nurses.
