Pakistan nationals deported for immigration offences

KOTA KINABALU: Three Pakistan nationals who completed their jail sentence for breaking immigration offences here have been deported.

The three men were sent back to Islamabad, Pakistan, from the Kota Kinabalu Immigration Depot via the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Monday (Feb 3).

The Sabah Immigration Department director said in a statement that these foreigners had among others, entered the country without valid documents and overstayed.

They bore the cost of deportation, said the department, adding that they will not compromise with anyone misusing their immigration passes and facilities provided by the state.

Action will also be taken against employers and premise owners hiring or harbouring illegal immigrants, the department said.

It also warned employers and the public against hiring workers illegally, and to go through the proper channels and procedures to employ foreign workers.

The Sabah Immigration Department will continue conducting enforcement operations and deportation exercises in a mission to rid the state of illegal immigrants.
