Dr Wee pledges to continue serving the people, safeguarding country’s interests and fostering harmony


KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has pledged to continue serving the people, safeguarding the country's interests and fostering harmony in society as the current Parliament meeting gets underway.

In keeping with this pledge, the Ayer Hitam MP said: "In upholding His Majesty’s decree, I, as an MP and the MCA president, will continue to play my role in serving the people and safeguarding the interests of the nation.

"We (MCA) will remain steadfast as a bridge of goodwill, fostering harmony within society," he said in a statement on his Facebook page.

He said that in the royal address at the opening ceremony of the first meeting of the fourth session of the 15th Parliament on Monday (Feb 3), His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia "emphasised the vital role of MPs in uniting the people rather than being agents of division".

"This is a principle I have always upheld.

He has also submitted 10 questions for oral answers, five for written answers, eight private motions, and a motion for the Special Chamber.
