Cops waiting for AGC's decision on intimidation case involving minister's son


KEPALA BATAS: Police are waiting for a decision by the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) on the next course of action in a criminal intimidation case involving a minister's son.

Penang police chief Comm Hamzah Ahmad said the investigation paper on the case has been submitted to the AGC.

"We have completed the investigation, and we will wait for further instructions," he said after launching a community policing drug prevention programme at the Kepala Batas Industrial Training Institutes (ILP) on Monday (Jan 27).

He was commenting on a case that went viral on Telegram with the VIP's son accused of threatening a woman who wanted to hold him accountable following her pregnancy.

He was alleged to have made the threat while having a discussion with the woman and several others at a house in Telok Air Tawar, Butterworth on Dec 24.

On Jan 15, Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil said the case was not being covered up.

Police earlier confirmed that the VIP's son had married the woman.

The marriage certificate showed that they were married in southern Thailand in September.
